Raisner Roupinian LLP filed a class proof of claim, on August 27, 2019, on behalf of employees of ANKA Behavioral Health, Inc. (“ANKA”) in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California (“the Court”) where ANKA filed for bankruptcy protection. We contended ANKA terminated certain employees without paying them their accrued unpaid vacation pay in violation of California law and sought to recover the employees’ damages on a class basis.
On September 17, 2021, the Court approved a class settlement of a $525,000 allowed claim on behalf of ANKA employees who were not paid their accrued paid time off when the company closed. Settlement checks were mailed to members of the class on March 22, 2022.
