GDC Technics – $1.375 Million Settlement, UPDATE 12/14/2022

Raisner Roupinian LLP filed a class action suit on May 5, 2021, against GDC Technics, LLC (“GDC”), seeking to recover 60 days’ wages and benefits for former employees under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (“the “WARN Act”) and for unpaid vacation pay under the Texas Payday Act. We contended GDC ordered mass layoffs at its facilities on or about April 9, 2021, without providing its employees with 60 days’ advance written notice. The case is pending in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas.

On November 2, 2021, the Court certified a class comprising WARN Act and vacation pay claims, appointing Raisner Roupinian LLP as class counsel, and the plaintiff as the class representative.  Notice of the class action was mailed to the members of the class on November 22, 2021.

On November 14, 2022, the Bankruptcy Court granted final approval of a $1,375,000 settlement on behalf of the certified class.

Settlement checks were mailed to class members on December 13, 2022.
