UPDATE 10/22/2024
Raisner Roupinian LLP filed a lawsuit on August 2, 2021, against Center for Excellence in Higher Education, (“CEHE”), seeking to recover 60 days wages and benefits for former employees under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (“WARN”) Act. We contend CEHE ordered mass layoffs at its facilities on or about August 2, 2021, without providing its employees with 60 days’ advance written notice as required by the WARN Act.
In 2023, the District Court ruled that the case could not proceed as a class action. We are currently seeking to resolve the WARN claims of our retained clients. We are no longer taking on new clients in this case.
